Nightly Doodles @ Chelsea Market Baskets!!

Exciting News!

...and an apology for my lack of blog posts, but goodness it's been SO busy since Chelsea Market ended! I've been selling at the Artist and Fleas in Brooklyn for the past two weekends, making new merch for the lovely Brooklyn folk. [more about that later]

AND... My work is NOW sold at Chelsea Market Baskets in NYC!!!!

I've been working my little tushy off preparing line sheets, and after a few persistent weeks, they placed an order!

I'm so VERY excited! I love CMB. I think they have amazing merchandise and a friendly staff. Above and below are some of the STELLAR cards they will be selling there!

They picked up my whole line of "Hello NY" cards you see above. The boy actually came up with the idea, along with lots of the new prints i offer too!!

[it's such a blessing to have a creative friend around all the time!]

Lastly but NOT lease, they picked up my BRAND NEW card [above] i actually designed JUST to show them!

Because of this adventure, i have almost 20 different NYC inspired greeting cards. Now... to figure out if i should list them online?

What do YOU think?

Now...back to regular blogging i hope!

Thanks for reading friends!

Hello Gertie!

Gertie went to the beach recently. Isn't her sand castle cool?

When i drew Gertie for the 1st time a few months ago i fell in love with a character for the first time. I can't wait to take her on other adventures too!

Where should she go?! :)

Simple Delights.

When i started drawing in 2010, i had NO idea it was going to turn into my 'dream job!' Back then it was just a way to express my brain doodles, cute things i saw during the day or things i wanted to teach myself.

This is one of my FIRST doodles i made during the beginning of my doodle adventure and it has been a favorite ever since. :)

Simple + Lovely = just the way i like it!
*would you like a copy?*

BLOOM

A tad late this lovely Friday. I had a lot to catch up on at the market and sadly my blog had to come second! [bad jen!] Some days when i know it will be crazy the following day, i bring my computer, but because of the random snows and having plans after work, i didn't think it would be a good idea.

Anyways...! Here is today's doodle! BLOOM CONSTANTLY. Something i feel we hinder ourselves from fully doing. [which makes my heart sad]

This is a hand watercolor'd and drawn piece that i scanned JUST to show you! :)

Sometimes all we need is just a HI to make us feel less alone.

THUS today i bring you another one of my snazzy mixed media ASL paintings scanned and printed on glossy paper!

You like?

Today I thank you.

There are many times in life where we [well...i] wonder why people are so rude or uncaring.

...but there are those days when i wish i carried 'thank you' cards in my back pocket to give to all the wonderful people i meet on a daily basis.  I've met so many lovely people at this event, and in Chelsea Market in general, and i'm just very grateful.

So this is for you lovely readers, new customers to come, and generally nice folks i come across!

Thank you a bundle! Have a flower on me! :)

Have a beautiful Tuesday folks!

PS:

Hi friends...It's been quite terrible that i haven't been able to post very much in the last week. Hurricane sandy was a total bummer!!

I was scared to use my computer for part of the week because i didn't know if we were going to lose power and it was just generally very stressful.

Alas, [most] of the trains are back running [except for the poor boyfriends :( he keeps having to wait hours and hours for travel] But other then that, we are safe, and so is our apartment so i feel very blessed.

Chelsea Market is FINALLY back open so please come visit!  I hope everyone is doing alright, and is safe and sound...
*and that Aimee from Artsyville gets power soon!!

Have a gorgeous and safe day friends!

I love you more...

This is another custom order from a super awesome gentleman i met at Chelsea Market.  This is a saying really close to his heart; his mom has been saying it to him for YEARS!

I'm so happy with how it came out and I'm sure he'll feel the same way. :)

Happy Monday friends!

Custom Orders [make my heart happy.]

Custom orders are one of my favorite things about having my own business.

At Chelsea Market last week, a gentleman came up to chat with me about a print idea he had. But up until he took out his credit card, i had no idea he really wanted me to draw it!!
[silly jen..]

He wanted me to draw 'not dead, don't quit', but i asked if i could make it a little more optimistic by writing 'not dead, WONT quit" and he agreed.

What do ya think?
