Dont Live to Work

This is another doodle from the series I've been posting which i will FINALLY post all of them and the actual article on the Cherry Runway blog on Wednesday!

But i think this is a very good message. I know i have gone through [and still struggle with]  sometimes!

I've also been posting these all on Society6! If you like them then i can post them on my Nightly Doodles etsy shop too. :)

Have an inspired day!

Stay in Touch.

This is the second doodle in the series i chatted about yesterday, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I think it came out quite ascetically pleasing and as i joyfully look at it, it looks kind of editorial too. :)

Express Your Feelings

I read a really interesting article and was inspired to draw doodles to go along with the article. This is the 1st of the lot. :)

Narwhal vs Unicorn

A dear friend of mine wanted to purchase my narwhal piece after seeing it on my Facebook page.

Sadly, that piece i posted was just an instagram photo i just dropped color on using Photoshop... yesterday i had the opportunity to re-draw the piece, and i LOVE it.

I hope this little lady loves it as much as i do. :)

[ If you love it and would like a copy too, just go here! ]

Distractions VS Disruptions

I was jonesin to listen to a podcast from my [Florida] church, Summit, and didn't quite understand how to work the podcast listing but was excited to find one from Alastair Sterne.

While listening to his very good message [from 2010! ha!] i found this quote very fitting for my life right now.

So thanks Alastair!
I hope to hear more poscasts from you soon!
From Canada perhaps?

God is prepping You.

I drew this doodle a few weeks ago in my small group. We were watching a video for a series we're going though, and honestly... i wasn't enjoying it very much. BUT during the video, i drew this doodle, so perhaps i enjoyed the video more than i thought if it inspired this doodle. :)

This is a truth-a-doodle.
 It's true, no matter what.

You are being prepped for the future.
You were made for a purpose.
And i hope you find that purpose, and that it brings you great joy.

Smiles to you dear friends,
Jenipher

I'll STICK with You.

Ahhh i am SO in love with my new doodle I'm BURSTING with Joy.

I drew while boy and i were relaxing on the couch a week or two ago. He slept and i drew a slew of new doodle goodies.

It's a very true sentiment, and one I'm so thankful i can say to boy and mean with my whole whole heart. :)

If you'd like to give it to someone YOU love and adore, head over to my Etsy shop to order one for them.

have a beautiful day!

Well?

Lately boy and i have been so busy we've been in our own worlds. Sometimes I'll be jabbering at him and moments [sometimes MINUTES!] later, i realize that I'm talking to myself....

i have my "well??" face on and am waiting impatiently for a response when i realize he missed everything i just said.

I decided the ONLY way to remedy this was to have a sign to hold up the next time i feel like there is wayyyy too much lag time in between comments.

THUS....
the "Well?" sign was born!!!

Feel free to make your own. :)

i love you. i like you.

I feel like most cards that are at least semi romantic are 'i love you' cards... but how many 'i like you' cards are out there?
I'm going to change that!
BEHOLD...the pre - i love you card!

Life without Music [and Jellyfish...]

I originally drew this doodle on November 10th, 2010.... ha! Crazy!

And I just colored it a few nights ago. I wanted to write out that text and play with it a smidgen more, but thought TODAY'S THE DAY and wanted to share it. :)

"Life without Music, is NOT life."

Stop Comparing Yourself!

Stop Comparing Yourself!
to anyone!

I doodled this the 3rd day of Chelsea i think? It was really hard sitting there, with no people around, and no sales. At that point i wasn't good friends with anyone around me. [luckily that changed!]

Anyways, this statement is really important, and hopefully one day i can fully embrace it!

Hopefully it will help you too.
Smiles,
jenipher :)

Nightly Doodles @ Chelsea Market Baskets!!

Exciting News!

...and an apology for my lack of blog posts, but goodness it's been SO busy since Chelsea Market ended! I've been selling at the Artist and Fleas in Brooklyn for the past two weekends, making new merch for the lovely Brooklyn folk. [more about that later]

AND... My work is NOW sold at Chelsea Market Baskets in NYC!!!!

I've been working my little tushy off preparing line sheets, and after a few persistent weeks, they placed an order!

I'm so VERY excited! I love CMB. I think they have amazing merchandise and a friendly staff. Above and below are some of the STELLAR cards they will be selling there!

They picked up my whole line of "Hello NY" cards you see above. The boy actually came up with the idea, along with lots of the new prints i offer too!!

[it's such a blessing to have a creative friend around all the time!]

Lastly but NOT lease, they picked up my BRAND NEW card [above] i actually designed JUST to show them!

Because of this adventure, i have almost 20 different NYC inspired greeting cards. Now... to figure out if i should list them online?

What do YOU think?

Now...back to regular blogging i hope!

Thanks for reading friends!

Hello Gertie!

Gertie went to the beach recently. Isn't her sand castle cool?

When i drew Gertie for the 1st time a few months ago i fell in love with a character for the first time. I can't wait to take her on other adventures too!

Where should she go?! :)

Simple Delights.

When i started drawing in 2010, i had NO idea it was going to turn into my 'dream job!' Back then it was just a way to express my brain doodles, cute things i saw during the day or things i wanted to teach myself.

This is one of my FIRST doodles i made during the beginning of my doodle adventure and it has been a favorite ever since. :)

Simple + Lovely = just the way i like it!
*would you like a copy?*

BLOOM

A tad late this lovely Friday. I had a lot to catch up on at the market and sadly my blog had to come second! [bad jen!] Some days when i know it will be crazy the following day, i bring my computer, but because of the random snows and having plans after work, i didn't think it would be a good idea.

Anyways...! Here is today's doodle! BLOOM CONSTANTLY. Something i feel we hinder ourselves from fully doing. [which makes my heart sad]

This is a hand watercolor'd and drawn piece that i scanned JUST to show you! :)

hi!

Sometimes all we need is just a HI to make us feel less alone.

THUS today i bring you another one of my snazzy mixed media ASL paintings scanned and printed on glossy paper!

You like?
i do. :)

Today I thank you.

There are many times in life where we [well...i] wonder why people are so rude or uncaring.

...but there are those days when i wish i carried 'thank you' cards in my back pocket to give to all the wonderful people i meet on a daily basis.  I've met so many lovely people at this event, and in Chelsea Market in general, and i'm just very grateful.

So this is for you lovely readers, new customers to come, and generally nice folks i come across!

Thank you a bundle! Have a flower on me! :)

Have a beautiful Tuesday folks!

PS:

Hi friends...It's been quite terrible that i haven't been able to post very much in the last week. Hurricane sandy was a total bummer!!

I was scared to use my computer for part of the week because i didn't know if we were going to lose power and it was just generally very stressful.

Alas, [most] of the trains are back running [except for the poor boyfriends :( he keeps having to wait hours and hours for travel] But other then that, we are safe, and so is our apartment so i feel very blessed.

Chelsea Market is FINALLY back open so please come visit!  I hope everyone is doing alright, and is safe and sound...
*and that Aimee from Artsyville gets power soon!!

Have a gorgeous and safe day friends!
-Jenipher

I love you more...

This is another custom order from a super awesome gentleman i met at Chelsea Market.  This is a saying really close to his heart; his mom has been saying it to him for YEARS!

I'm so happy with how it came out and I'm sure he'll feel the same way. :)

Happy Monday friends!

Custom Orders [make my heart happy.]

Custom orders are one of my favorite things about having my own business.

At Chelsea Market last week, a gentleman came up to chat with me about a print idea he had. But up until he took out his credit card, i had no idea he really wanted me to draw it!!
[silly jen..]

He wanted me to draw 'not dead, don't quit', but i asked if i could make it a little more optimistic by writing 'not dead, WONT quit" and he agreed.

What do ya think?
